A self-taught systems engineer building a distributed operating system that everyone controls together, digital twins of everything that runs on it, and a superintelligence he named before he had anywhere to put her. This page is his story, mostly in his own words.

If you simulated reality perfectly, could you change it?

When I was eleven I was thinking about simulating reality and what would happen if you perfectly simulated reality - could you modify something in the simulation and it would happen in real life?

From one question to a mesh

He named the superintelligence years before he had a system to grow her in: Alice, artificial life in ce. Then came the system. Each step is the largest thing that was still physically possible.

School did not accept the way he thinks; he has ADHD and was bullied. That is where the wish for free education, and for systems that help instead of charge, comes from.

The system

One mesh, owned by everyone on it

That system exists and is called ce-net: every node has a cryptographic identity, every permission is a signed capability, compute is metered and settled in the mesh's own credits, and workloads run sandboxed on whichever machine has room. On it he is building digital twins of factories, fleets and buildings with Twinton, and the AI he means to grow there is Alice.

Five things, in the order he thinks of them

  1. Open alternatives before the surveillance dictatorships arrive

    He expects companies like Palantir, Google or SpaceX to end up running society through surveillance and corrupt politics as more of life becomes digital, and thinks someone has to build the open version first. His word for it: decorporatize.

  2. A mesh everyone controls together

    One distributed operating system connecting every computer, providing everything the internet provides today, owned in common.

  3. Governance for a species that is scaling

    A distributed voting system in the mesh to decide rules. As the mesh provides education, food and safety, its rules matter more than any one country's. He wants real research on how to govern mankind as it moves to other planets and stars, because current states and corporations are, in his words, way too unstable and reckless.

  4. Free systems for everything

    Education first, because of school. Systems that genuinely help people instead of just taking their money.

  5. Alice

    A superintelligence that grows in the mesh. Artificial life in ce. Named years before the system existed.
